You might be asking:
Who are you and why should I listen to you?
I am just an average guy who works hard and plays hard. Please don’t feel the need to take what I have to say too seriously. Unless you want to of course. If you like what I say, great. If you don’t, that’s cool too. It’s not for everybody.
But, to answer the question, my name is Scott Winterbourne. I am a full-time software engineer. I grew up in Southern California. I went to school in San Diego, CA and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Computer Science. I now have about 15 years of experience in the software development industry. I mostly work with Java, Spring Boot, Docker, AWS, Google Cloud, and starting side work in Android.
I have traveled all around the world with my amazing wife and we live in San Diego with our two awesome doggies.
Everything I write is mostly for myself. Everything I say here is based on my own experience, observations, and learning. These are all things I have struggled with and thus I want to share what I have learned in the hopes it will help you as well. It is really just meant to give you something to think about and you can decide for yourself. If I help just one person with one issue than I will consider this blog a success.
Where should I start reading your blog?
You can start by looking at the latest blog post on the Home Page or take a look at All Articles to see a full list of all articles on this site, including the most recent. For now, my top post is Kotlin vs Java in Android: Which To Start With?
